Traumatic vascular injuries in children are rare and differ from those seen in adults in terms of epidemiology, causes, and mechanisms. Injuries can occur by either blunt or penetrating mechanisms and are found anywhere along the courses of the carotid or vertebral arteries from the upper chest to the skull base. Trauma Registry establish an incidence of 0.03% for blunt carotid injury, which is the most common form of vascular injury. Major Causes of Traumatic Vascular Injuries are Gunshot wound, Stabbing, Animal bite, Iatrogenic, Falls, Motor vehicle crash, Related to spine trauma or anomalies, Iatrogenic.
