Congenital and Developmental Brain Disorders

There are many congenital and developmental disorders of brain. A group of disorders occur during development of child and need neurosurgical attention. Congenital malformations of the brain comprise a large and diverse set of anomalies. Their effects on patients can range from the relatively benign, causing little in the way. of neurological deficits, to causing such severe deficits as to be incompatible with life. Each part of the developmental process can give rise to a variety of pathologic states, and each state can present with a different clinical picture. As imaging modalities have improved, their diagnosis has become more precise and more malformations have been defined.
